Once again, I'm sorry I didn't post anything about yesterday's activity. I literally did not have a minute to breath. I was working, I took the time to workout with my mom then to go to the training at the pool and yesterday night was my going away dinner with people from work so I got home really late and I was working this morning so I decided I would just make one big post today. I did take the time to do the activity, which was to prepare snacks for the trip. My mom helped me because she is the best! While I made dehydrated apples, she baked me cookies. They are super healthy and so good, I can't wait to be at the airport so I can eat them haha!
Today's activity, I knew I wouldn't have time to do it today. At least not all of it. So I spent a couple of hours everyday this week doing it. I made something for all the occasions that I am missing this summer, like father's day and my sister's birthday. I will not tell you what because they might read this and it would ruin the surprise! I also made a card for mother's day, which was today! Happy mother's day to all the amazing moms reading this! I can't believe I am leaving in just a few hours! I have been so busy all year it just flew by! I can't wait to see what this program will be like! I will give you an update as soon as I have the time, I promise!

Sorry I didn't post anything about the activity I did yesterday! The activity was simply to watch a movie I had never seen before, which I did. I watched the fourth Star Wars. I though it was fitting since Star Wars Day was just the day before and it's almost a tradition that I watch a new Star Wars movie before going to Disney every year. I don't exactly like Star Wars, but I thought this one was pretty good!
Now, on with today's activity! I hope you have all seen Beauty and the Beast and, if you have, you probably know some of the lyrics to Be Our Guest! Well in the song, Lumiere mentions the Grey Stuff at one point "Try the grey stuff, it's delicious! Don't believe me? Ask the dishes." In the movie it seems to be some kind of hors d'oeuvre, but at the Be Our Guest restaurant in Magic Kingdom, the Grey Stuff is a dessert, and it is delicious. I know I should be trying to get fit for summer, but I love desserts and this one is so good I had to try and make it! It turns out, it was pretty easy to make! I found the recipe on Pinterest (you probably know by now that Pinterest is my life haha) and it took about an hour. It tastes exactly like the one in Disney AND my family thinks it's gross so it's all for me haha. Now I want to go to Be Our Guest! Right now! I also had good news today! I haven't talked about it much, but I am almost sure I mentioned it. If you don't know yet, I applied to be a French language assistant in British-Colombia during the next school year and I got the email today that I was accepted! I start on September 6th and I will be living in Comox for 9 months. Life is amazing right now! I am leaving for Disney in 3 days and I will be leaving for British-Colombia in 4 months! This morning, before going to work, I did all of my laundry and packed both of my suitcases and my backpack. I only have a few things left to pack. Things that I use everyday and still need for the next for days. I have a regular sized suitcase and a carry-on suitcase. The little one is full, but there is still a little bit of space in the big one, so enough room for all the little things I have left.
All in all, it took me three hours the do the laundry and pack everything. Pretty efficient right?! I was pretty proud of myself. I almost forgot that I would need a toothbrush though haha I thought about it while I was having lunch and wrote it on my list so I don't forget anything. I probably have too many clothes, but I only packed things that I like to wear all the time so I don't think it's so bad. I don't have any warm clothes or long sleeves or pants. I am going to wear a sweater and crop pants when I leave, but that is all I am bringing that is kind of warm. I have long pyjamas though since it can be cold in the apartments. I am also bringing shampoo and soap and hangers and a bunch of stuff I can leave there so I will have enough space to bring back anything I might buy over there. For a list of things to pack click here! The next few days are going to be crazy busy, but now that my suitcase is done, I'm not nervous, because I'm ready to leave. I still have to work everyday until I leave (tomorrow night, Friday night, Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday). I also have my going away party on Saturday and mother's day on Sunday. I won't have a minute to myself until I leave, but I wouldn't have it any other way! Has everyone seen the movie Inside Out? I had the chance to go see it last summer and I absolutely loved it. Not only was the animation flawless, but it was also full of emotions and memories I could relate to. When I first decided to do an activity everyday again this year, I knew I wanted to make another type of cupcakes because I had so much fun baking the aliens cupcakes last year. As I was looking on Pinterest for ideas, I found these "Memory Bubble" cupcakes and I thought they were so cute! Since I had loved the film so much, it was only logical to make these this year. The concept is pretty simple. The cupcakes are divided between the five emotions and are full of memory bubbles (Smarties). They were fun to make and so delicious. The whole family enjoyed them and my friend who got some too because she just moved to a new apartment and has been working so hard painting and moving boxes, she totally deserved cupcakes! (Her appartement looks amazing btw and I am so happy for her. I had so much fun helping to paint today!) Here is a look at the result of today's activity. I hope I could give all of you one so you could enjoy them as well! I didn't have time to post this yesterday, but I did make the pancakes. They were not that pretty, but they sure were delicious. Here are the pictures Yesterday was a big day! I got my hair cut in the morning. Then, at 1 PM, a bunch of people who are going to Disney went out for ice cream. There were 12 of us and some of them I had never met so it was great to finally meet them a week before leaving. I worked yesterday night and went to a water aerobics class and a water spinning class after, which is why I didn't post anything. I was so tired I went straight to bed when I got home. I had a lot of fun yesterday so I hope it's a sign of the summer to come.
Today, since I was working all day and don't have much time for a special activity, I am going to make a list of the characters that I want to meet this summer.
I have met a lot of the characters over the years. I even went to see about 10 characters one day the record a happy birthday video for my sister. Character interactions are always so much fun and are totally worth the wait. Today I made a new game that we will be able to play on the plane or in waiting lines. It's a Would You Rather game. I found this on Pinterest and it was super easy to make and it is super fun to play. On each sheet there are two choices. You have to choose one and explain why you would choose it instead of the other. It makes very good conversation topics and you can play for hours with only this little booklet.
I just printed the printable from this blog and then cut each square and glued them in pairs. Then I attached them all with a ribbon to make a booklet and decorated the pages. I can't wait to be at the airport so we can play :) Today's activity was fun. First, I didn't have to decide what I wanted to eat which is always a big challenge so I was grateful for that. Second, Lady and the Tramp was one of my favorite Disney movies as a child and I hadn't watched it in so long, so it was good to see it again. Plus, I had a lot to do today so I really enjoyed that I had an excuse to take a break and relax while watching a movie :P I got my itinerary today! It says that my housing complex will be Vista Way. It was my last choice of complex so I am a little disappointed, but it's only for three months and there are a lot of advantages to living at Vista. Like the Walgreens and Wendy's 2 minutes away and all the Disney offices on site, the library and movie center and the Transtar office. It won't be so bad I'm sure. The itinerary also says our schedule for the first few days. On the first day I have the check-in at 1:30 PM and nothing else so I can relax. On the second day I have the Housing Welcome Session at 9 AM and the Immigration Session at 5 PM. The next day, I have the International Onboarding Session at 1:30 PM and on May 12th I have Traditions at 8 AM. After that, I have no idea! I have probably told you before, but on May 10th, after the Immigration Session, some of us are going to O'hana for dinner! I can't wait! I have never been there for dinner and apparently it's delicious :) Since the Immigration Session is at 5, we have plenty of time to make it to our reservation at 8 and we don't have anything the next day until 1:30 so we don't have to go to bed early. Today I made one of Disney's classic recipes, Dole Whip! The delicious treat as been a Magic Kingdom favourite since it's opening day and a Disneyland favorite long before that. It is served at the Dole counter near the Enchanted Tiki Room in Adventureland and at the Polynesian Resort. In the hot Florida weather, it tastes like heaven! It is very simple to make. I bought a pineapple that I cut in little cubes and put in a freezer bag with some mangoes, also cut into cubes. I left the bag in the freezer over night. This morning I took it out and put about 2 cups of fruit cubes in the blender with 1 cup of coconut milk and 3/4 cup of tropical juice. I mixed it all together until it was all smooth and the results were delicious. Even though it would taste better in Magic Kingdom with hot or at least warm temperatures, it's still better than no Dole Whip at all! I realized a few days ago that I hadn't written my bucket list for this summer yet so here it is! This summer being my last one, I hope I get to do all of it this time.
2016 Bucket List:
Some of those like Typhoon Lagoon and Magic Kingdom I have already done, but I still want to do them another time :) |
