It’s true, ten more days have gone by, and pretty quick too! All of my mid-term exams are done and it’s officially spring break, which is not exactly a break for me haha. I will be working almost everyday and I have a ton of homework due when school starts up again. But, there are a few things to look forward to, like the brunch with the people who are going to Disney on Wednesday! A lot of people are coming and I am super excited about it. It will be a great opportunity to get to know everyone and get excited about Disney with people who understand. And then, on Saturday, it’s Disney on Ice!! I am going with Sarah-Maude and Anipier who I haven’t seen since the beginning of January! It’s been forever!
I had to get a new background check done because I received the email from Yummy Jobs only a few days ago. It cost $65 CAN... I am mad! I also paid for my medical insurance… $447,68 CAN. I am so poor!! Disney is so expensive!! All I have left to pay for is the Sevis fee, which is $35 US, not bad. If I keep working as many hours as I am now until I leave, I should have some money to enjoy my summer at Disney!

There are now 80 days to go before my last Disney College Program! I still have to pay for my medical insurance, but I am so poor after paying for my program fees that I am waiting for my next paycheck. I bought my flight ticket though! I am leaving at 6 AM on May 9 with Air Canada. I have an hour and a half layover in Montreal and I should arrive in Orlando at 11:30 AM.
In a few days we should be getting an email about the background check. I still have the one from last year and it is good for a year, but I am not sure if they will accept it. I hope so because it costs 63$. If I have not received the email by Monday I’m going to get another one. I can’t wait to meet everyone who got accepted so we are working on organizing a meet up in Quebec City during reading week, which is in two weeks! I am super busy with exams and work right now and I have an interview for the Odyssey program tomorrow to be a language assistant during the next school year, so reading week can’t come soon enough! I am exhausted! Talk to you in 10 days to keep you updated :) Today started as a normal day. I woke up, checked my emails, had breakfast, checked my emails, did some homework, checked my emails, watched TV, checked my emails. Totally normal right? At 2:21, I took the bus to go to class and when I got to school and finally had wi-fi, a facebook message poped up saying “I got my email!!” Turns out, I had mine too! My program starts on May 9 and I will be a recreation cast member, which means I can work in a water park or resort. I’m definitely hoping for Typhoon Lagoon. I miss my Typhoon family!
I accepted my offer as soon as I got it. I also paid my program fees so I’m all set! 87 days to go! I can’t believe how little days there are left, we had over 90 to go when we got our offers last year! I hope it goes by really fast! Congratulations to everyone who got an offer! I hope you got the role you wanted and I can’t wait to get to know you in Florida! As you know if you have read my recent blog posts, being an alumnus, I had a phone interview for this year’s program. But, with one day of face-to-face interviews taking place in Quebec, where I live, I had no choice, but to go and support the future new participants.
The face-to-face interviews were yesterday. The presentation was from 9:30 to 10:30 AM and at 10:30 the interviews started. I was working from 8 to 10 so I arrived at 11, just in time to see most people before their interviews. Laurie was already there, while Roxanne arrived with me, and Florence, a little later. It was great to meet everyone and answer the questions that they had and also to see Laurie, Florence and Roxanne who I hadn’t seen in so long. We could see that everyone was nervous and kind of shy, but I get it. Your first Disney interview is a lot of confliction emotions at the same time. It is so exciting, but also nerve-wracking and surprising for most people because you never think you would be good enough for Disney! I hope we could help some of them overcome the stress and I wish them all the best! I can’t wait to get to know all of them and also get our answers from Disney! All alumni have been waiting for 3 weeks now, but we could hear back as early as next week. Fingers crossed! |
AuthorHello everyone! My name is Marie-Ève. I am from Québec, Canada and this blog is about my summer as a cast member in Walt Disney World. Since most of my family and friends speak French, everything on this blog will be written both in English and French. Archives
