August 8th was my last day in Florida for the summer of 2015! We woke up pretty late, went to the pool, explored Saratoga and went to Downtown Disney in the afternoon to see Fantastic Four at AMC. It was a fun, relaxing day to settle from all of our emotions from the last few days before going home. Staying in Disney for two days after the end of my program was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Going back the my family after the craziness of the last few days would have been a choc. I needed a moment to make the transition between the Disney life and normal life and staying with girls from my home town who know what I am going through was exactly what I needed.

On July 16th, after a fun day under the sun, Anipier and I went to Downtown Disney to have diner at Rainforest Cafe. I had made reservations the day before, unfortunately, I messed up the dates and we had a reservation for the next day. Lucky for us, the lady at the front was super nice and she changed the reservation and let us have a table! The restaurant was amazing! There were aquariums full of multicoloured fishes all around us and, every fifteen minutes, there was a "thunderstorm" and everything started moving everywhere, the trees, the animatronics animals, the waterfalls... After the storm, there was a rainbow and then all was calm again. We spent the whole time looking at the fishes and the food was delicious! I would go again tomorrow if I could! After dinner, it was still early so we hung out at Downtown for a while. We went to the shops, enjoyed to music and just walked around. It was a beautiful day, not too hot, and sunny after the thunderstorm of the afternoon. After walking all around Downtown, we took the boat and headed to Saratoga Springs. It's one of the biggest resorts on Disney property and it is located right in front of Downtown Disney. We had both never been there so we took the time to explore. We went to the pools, the treehouses, the golf court and the boardwalk were you can walk along the lake and enjoy the beautiful view that is Downtown Disney. We were there just as the sun was setting so it was breathtaking! While we were hanging out in Saratoga Springs, Sarah-Maude was finishing her shift with Mickey and taking the bus from Magic Kingdom to join us on an Amphicar ride. The ride was pretty expensive, especially since it only lasts about 30 minutes, but you never know if you are going to get the chance to do something again so it was definitely worth it. We had an amazing time and we were right on time to see the EPCOT fireworks from the lake! It was such a different point of view to see Downtown Disney, from the water, and I enjoyed every minute of it! I realize how lucky I am to have the chance to live this incredible experience and days like this help me realize it even more!
The time to workout during the Disney College Program is pretty inexistant. But, with these split shifts, we now have all of our mornings and not enough time to really enjoy the parcs so why not go for a run? But why go for a run on a boring street when you can explore the Walt Disney World Resort at the same time? Anipier and I had the idea to go run on the resorts' running trails and then go for a swim at the resort's pool before work. Our first resort was the Caribbean Beach. It's a beautiful resort where I had the chance to stay for a week with my parents last summer. We ran for about 20 minutes in a 35 degree (C) weather without the humidity. Not that bad for two girls who barely had time to workout all summer. We definitely got some weird looks from the guest because, who would run in that weather?! But we had a lot of fun!
On July 7th, Florence and I had made a reservation to stay in a Deluxe suite at the Polynesian. We wanted two days of calm and relaxation on a lounger by the lava pool. We got there early and our room was already ready! Our room was beautiful. We had two bathrooms and one of them even had a rain shower. The room could fit up to 5 people. We had a giant flat screen TV and a balcony with a view of the pool. As soon as we got our room, we put on our bathing suits and went to the pool. Unfortunately for us, it started raining at about 12 and it rained all afternoon. We ended up watching movies and enjoying our room. At 5, we were hungry so we took the monorail to the Contemporary resort to eat at their cafeteria which is bigger and has more choices than the one at the Polynesian. We then explored the shops and went back to our hotel. Since the rain had stopped, we went to the beach for the campfire, took pictures, watched Wishes from the beach and went to bed.
On the 8th, we had a reservation at O'hana's so Catherine, Julie, Laurie and Anipier joined us for breakfast. We met Mickey, Lilo, Stitch and Pluto and had a lot of fun. After breakfast, we went back to our room to show it to them, they left and we went back to the pool. It didn't rain that day! We were able to spend the whole day by the pool. Swimming, tanning, playing with the children's activities cast members and enjoying pina coladas (virgin for me of course, not 21 yet). At 5, we decided it was time to go back to housing, even though we both wished we could have stayed longer. On Thursday the 21st, Anipier and I had to go get our costumes so we would have them when we start training at Typhoon on Monday. For an unknown reason, the costuming for the Typhoon lifeguards is located near the Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach and Pop Century Resorts so it's a different bus to go to costuming and to go to Typhoon. In order not to lose our day off going to costuming, we decided to bring our swimsuits and try the pools at Art of Animation Resorts with Florence. I was deployed there for a week last summer, but I had never tried the pools. We visited the Little Mermaid and Lion King parts of the resort, had lunch at the cafeteria during the thunderstorm in the beginning of the afternoon and then we went to the Nemo pool. I'm pretty sure it's the biggest pool on the Walt Disney World property and it is gorgeous! We had an awesome time and the girls had a drink at the bar which looked delicious!
