On July 23rd, Erin, her roommate Paige and I left at about 10:30 to spend the day at Daytona Beach. We were lucky and the weather was perfect all day. It didn't even rain! Daytona Beach is beautiful and the water was just cool enough to be refreshing. We spent the whole day swimming, shopping in the tourist shops by the beach, playing football and drinking slushies. We stayed for diner and ate on the pier with a beautiful view of the beach. I really wanted to go to the beach during my program and didn't think I would be able to make it because it's so far away and I don't have a car so this little trip was amazing and totally made my whole weak haha!

On Thursday July 16th, it was another beautiful day in sunny Florida and Ryan (one of the Slide Operators at Typhoon who I have been working with a lot lately) and I decided to go enjoy the weather at Mickey's Retreat. But first, we went to IHOP for breakfast. I had never been to IHOP so I was very happy to get the chance to try it. I had chocolate pancakes and they were delicious!
After breakfast, and since it was too early to go to Mickey's Retreat (it only opens at 11 AM), we went to Cast Connection with my roommate Edith. Cast Connection is a store for Cast Members only and it is full of Disney merchandise that cannot be sold in the stores anymore, because it is broken or, not in the season (like Christmas decorations). I didn't buy anything, but it was fun to look around for a while. When Mickey's Retreat finally opened, we put on sunscreen and jumped in the pool. We had fun playing basketball in the pool and doing a bomb contest. We later played volleyball on the beach and, when it started raining, we went inside to play ping pong. Ok, so I haven't played ping pong in about five years so let's just say that I'm not that good anymore haha. At about 4 PM, Ryan had to go and Anipier came over to my apartment so we could go to Downtown Disney for diner. It was a fun relaxing day outside and I definitely needed it after working for days and dealing with those crowds in the parks all the time. On July 5, I was working an AM shift and Vanessa, Simon, Erin and I had planned to meet up at Blizzard Beach afterwards. It was a beautiful and sunny day and the weather was still perfect when I got to Blizzard, but we only had time to do 2 slides when it suddenly started pouring rain. The parc was closed because of the thunder so we decided to leave and have dinner at Olive Gardens. I had never been there, but it was delicious! I even ate my brocoli! After dinner, it was still raining a little bit, but not enough to stop us. So we made our way to Hollywood Studios. Unfortunately, Fantasmic was cancelled because of the weather, but we still got to see the Frozen fireworks and they are amazing!
